The Role: Estimation Mechanical Engineer (Focus on Fire & Safety)
As a Mechanical Estimation Engineer, you will be the core technical and commercial lead responsible for preparing competitive, accurate, and compliant bids for the company’s specialized mechanical services. Your expertise will directly influence project profitability and the company’s growth in the competitive Qatari market.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering Estimation, preferably within the MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) or Fire & Safety sectors in Qatar.
- Sector Focus: Expertise in estimating mechanical works, particularly Fire Fighting Systems (sprinklers, hydrants, pumps), Fire Alarm Systems, and associated piping and equipment.
- Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with the approval process and requirements of the Qatar Civil Defence Department (QCDD) is highly beneficial, as Maxim’s services cover full QCDD delivery.
- Skills: Proficiency in reviewing tender documents, generating accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and material take-offs, and evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tender Preparation: Develop detailed and competitive cost estimates for all mechanical aspects of bids and proposals.
- Cost Analysis: Conduct comprehensive analysis of project specifications, drawings, and scope of work to ensure all cost elements are captured.
- Procurement Support: Collaborate closely with the procurement team to finalize supplier pricing and technical compliance of materials, which include UL, FM, and LPCB certified products.
- Documentation: Prepare and compile complete techno-commercial proposals for submission to clients.
